Terms of Service

Effective Date: February 1, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using FedPath ("the Service"), operated at fedpath.app, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

2. Description of Service

FedPath is an educational financial planning platform designed for federal civilian employees (FERS) and military members (BRS). The Service provides:

  • Retirement income projection calculators (pension, Social Security, TSP)
  • Interactive scenario modeling ("what-if" analysis)
  • TSP fund performance dashboard with historical data
  • Withdrawal planning tools with tax-aware strategy comparison
  • AI-powered educational assistant for federal benefits questions
  • A knowledge base of articles about federal retirement

Important: FedPath is an educational tool, not a financial advisor.

All projections are estimates based on the assumptions you provide and publicly available federal benefits rules. Nothing in this Service constitutes financial, tax, investment, or legal advice. Consult a qualified professional before making financial decisions.

3. Account Responsibilities

To use most features, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate information during registration and when entering your financial data
  • Keep your login credentials secure and not share your account
  • Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account
  • Accept responsibility for all activity under your account

You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter. The quality of your projections depends on the accuracy of your inputs.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without our written permission.

Your data: You retain ownership of all personal data you enter into the Service. We do not claim any ownership rights over your data. You may export or delete your data at any time.

6. Disclaimers

NOT a Financial Advisor

FedPath is an educational tool, not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, or financial planner. No advisory or fiduciary relationship is created by your use of the Service.

NOT Affiliated with the U.S. Government

FedPath is an independent platform. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board (FRTIB), the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP), the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), the Department of Defense, the Social Security Administration, or any other federal agency.

Projections Are Estimates

All projections, calculations, and scenarios are estimates based on the assumptions you provide, published federal benefits rules, and historical data. Actual results will vary based on market conditions, policy changes, personal circumstances, and other factors we cannot predict or control.

Consult a Professional

Before making any financial decisions — including TSP allocation changes, retirement timing, Social Security claiming, or Roth conversions — consult a qualified financial advisor, tax professional, or attorney who understands your complete financial situation.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, FedPath and its officers, employees, and contractors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or financial outcomes arising from:

  • Your use of or inability to use the Service
  • Any decisions you make based on information provided by the Service
  • Errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in projections or calculations
  • Unauthorized access to your account or data
  • Service interruptions or technical failures

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

8. Publisher's Exclusion Notice

FedPath operates under the publisher's exclusion of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, Section 202(a)(11)(D). This means:

  • FedPath is structured as a financial education publication, not a registered investment adviser.
  • Any market commentary, model portfolios, or allocation signals published by FedPath are general educational content delivered identically to all subscribers — they are not personalized investment recommendations.
  • The Service provides calculators and tools that you operate yourself. You make all decisions and implement any changes to your TSP directly at TSP.gov.
  • FedPath never has access to, manages, or controls your TSP account or any other financial account.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms

You may close your account at any time from the Settings page. Upon account closure, your data will be permanently deleted as described in our Privacy Policy.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if required by law. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before suspension, except in cases of urgent security concerns.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the courts of the State of California.

12. Indemnification
